"He chose me. Am I going to accept it or allow the honor to pass on to someone else?" Whenever I am in desperate need of His word to fight my insecurities, I always seem to stumble back upon the book of Esther. Esther was a Jewish peasant woman who was chosen to be the queen of a great kingdom, pretty much OG Cinderella. She had many obstacles to overcome before stepping into her destiny. At any time, she could have said “No, this is impossible, too difficult; I won’t do it” and another woman would have had the honor of carrying out God’s will. That’s the thing... God’s plan will ALWAYS be done. You get to choose if you want to be a part of it, or not. Through all the obstacles, Esther chose to be the woman that saw God’s plan through until the end. I am mostly telling this story for my sake. Since I have strengthened my relationship with God, I can see a great destiny that He has in store for me in my career, my family, and my impact on the world... and it really scares me. I’ve been running away from that destiny, but recently, I’ve been slowing down and glancing behind me. What I see isn’t comforting because I know of all the obstacles that come with greatness, but it doesn’t seem as scary because God is right there next to me. Deuteronomy 31:6 says, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” Whenever I feel overwhelmed and doubt my abilities, God reassures me that He is there ALWAYS. Let me tell you now, that doesn’t mean that I am immediately unafraid, it means that I am confident that I am not fulfilling my destiny with only my own abilities, but also with the abilities of The Lord, a.k.a. The Omnipotent God. Thank you, Jesus! Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. My prayer for us to be courageous: “Father, thank you for choosing me to carry out your will. I acknowledge that I am too weak and afraid to do it on my own, so please strengthen and help me to be courageous knowing that you are with me ALWAYS. I love you, and thank you again for choosing me.” -Asia ![]() Asia is a senior in college majoring in Business Marketing.
